Emaarannounced Mira in April 2013 with the advertising tag line being Own a 3 Bedroom townhouse starting from AED 950,000. The resulting furor created between announcement and launch saw thousands of people camping for days in advance to try to be one of the first in line to buy just 188 units.

The thousands of people queuing up caused road blockages and led to riots. This was in fact the last launchEmaardid with the queuing system. All subsequentEmaarlaunches are now done on an online registration system.
