Palm Jumeriah Island Dubai
Palm Jumeriah is smallest island among all three Palm islands (Palm Jabel Ali and Palm Deira) located on the coastal area of Jumeriah Beach. Total area of this island is larger than 800 football pitches. This project was started in June 2001 and completed in 2007. It is a manmade island which was built in the shape of palm tree. Like other Palm Islands of this project, Palm Jumeriah consists of three parts- Trunks, fronds and Crescent. It extends 6.5 kilometers in to the Arabian Gulf. Trunk and fronds of island are surrounded by 12 kilometer long Crescent that works as water breaker around island. It is able to survive 4 meter high sea waves. It takes around 4 years of planning and comprehensive studies to ensure that construction of this island will not disrupt nature and environment. Currently this island is the largest manmade island covering 560 hectares of land.
The Palm Trunk
It is built to connect crown with land area. Trunk has 20 green buildings of shoreline apartments with similar floor plan design. Apartments built on right side of the trunk have distinct access to beach; whereas building built on left side doesnt. One has to cross the road to step on to beach. Swimming pools and gyms facilities have been built between every two buildings.
The Palm Fronds
Common properties built on the Palm Fronds are of villa type. There are mainly two types of Villas are built on the fronds of Palm Jumeirah which are Garden Home (small) and Signature Villas (larger 7 bedroom villas). Villa prices are purely depending on the frond letter and villa numbers. Villas located on higher frond with high number are more expensive.
