Palm Jumeriah is one of the three Palm islands located on the coastal area of Jumeriah Beach. Total area of this island is larger than 800 football pitches. It was built in the shape of a palm tree. Like other Palm Islands of this project, Palm Jumeriah consists of three parts Trunks, fronds and Crescent. It extends 6.5 kilometers in to the Arabian Gulf. Trunk and fronds of island are surrounded by 12 kilometer long Crescent that works as water breaker around island. It is able to survive 4 meter high sea waves. It takes around 4 years of planning and comprehensive studies to ensure that construction of this island will not disrupt nature and environment. Currently this island is the largest manmade island covering 560 hectares of land.
